The goal was a system the client could rely on and grow with, not one that would need rebuilding when requirements evolved. Every decision, from architecture to UI, was made with that long-term value in mind.
Khelmanch, a sports-focused social platform, wanted a short-form video feature similar to Instagram Reels so athletes and creators could showcase their skills, but no existing WordPress plugin offered that kind of portrait-video upload, categorization, and swipeable feed experience.
This Plugin Development project built a custom Reels Creator plugin allowing users to upload and share short, engaging portrait-style video content directly from the front end. Reels can be tagged with sports type or talent category, thumbnails generate automatically or can be uploaded manually, and the reel feed supports autoplay and swipe behavior with search and filter options, all managed through admin dashboard controls.
